ABOUT:

There’s a new face in country music that has quickly grabbed the attention of music lovers across the nation; Raquel & The Wildflowers. This energetic powerhouse band blends the sound of traditional country music with a rock and roll drive. The band formed in 2019 and are based out of NY. The group is composed of Raquel de Souza (Singer), Luis Cruz (Guitar/Backing Vocals), Cat Lines (Fiddle/Backing Vocals), Tommy Carlucci (Drums) and a touring bass player.

Though relatively new, the band has accomplished a lot in a short time. Raquel made the transition to pursue her original music in 2017 by releasing her debut solo single “Run Towards the Highway”. The song won a ReverbNation contest and was distributed for airplay. It charted #32 on DRT Top 50 Country AirPlay charts (2018) alongside global country stars such as Carrie Underwood and Luke Bryan. Soon after, Raquel opened for international country star Jessica Lynn (Oct. 2018) with her bandmates Cat Lines (fiddle) and Luis Cruz (Guitar) and by May 2019 the three formed and released a new band name; Raquel & The Wildflowers.

Raquel & The Wildflowers has opened for multi-platinum artist Andy Grammer, has opened for award winning bands and joined together with emerging artists to sell out NYC's “The Cutting Room” theatre for the first “Urban Country Jam” music festival hosted by Lauren Davidson. Raquel & The Wildflowers will be performing at Country Fest 2021 with headlining artists Dierk's Bentley, Kane Brown, and Thomas Rhett. They will also be performing at MUSIK FEST 2021 with headlining artists such as Darius Rucker, ZEDD, Sam Hunt, Black Violin, The Wood Brothers, The New Orleans Preservation Hall Jazz Band and more. The band will be heading out on their first North American tour this summer (2021).

In light of the coronavirus pandemic, the band has been performing virtually. Some notable virtual performances include NY's Country 94.7 FM for Raquel’s song “Money Ain’t Sane”, Central NY #1 Country station Big Frog, MD Country Station 94.7WDSD, Freedom Park “QuaranTunes” Summer Series and iHeart Radio KISS FM.

This high-energy band is so excited to retake the stage in 2021 and bring back the live music that fans have been missing.
